About Us
Insecterra: innovators in the field of growing feed protein from insects in Ukraine
We are a team of entrepreneurs and scientists who are inspired by the idea of a sustainable future. We are engaged in breeding black lionfish larvae to produce products that meet the needs of agriculture and feed industries. To this end, we build partnerships with agricultural enterprises and feed producers. This helps unlock the potential of the new product and offer solutions to increase the productivity of livestock farms and crop yields.
We not only grow insect larvae, but also conduct scientific research with the aim of improving the efficiency of processes and finding new opportunities. We believe in the potential of the business and that the future of products goes beyond the use in the agro and feed industries.
Our Mission
Changing the world through environmental innovation
We strive to provide feed producers with the most efficient and environmentally friendly solutions, reducing waste and promoting sustainable development. Our mission is to turn around the idea of growing protein, to make our world healthier and more balanced. We implement technologies that make it possible to create high-quality products without harming nature. Cultivation of black lionfish larvae is the business behind the future of several sectors of industry.
About Us
Fast track to a sustainable future
At Insecterra, we see a world where an environmentally sustainable approach is becoming the norm. Our vision is to create innovative solutions that not only provide feed producers with effective products, but also contribute to the preservation of the environment and the maintenance of animal health. We strive for a future where each of us can contribute to creating a prosperous world. The direction of our activity is an important contribution to the implementation of the strategy to support the ecology of the planet.
Cultivation and processing of black lionfish larvae require significantly less resources than obtaining protein by traditional methods. We aim to reduce the amount of waste associated with traditional animal husbandry. And we have all the resources and potential to do so.

R&D
Research activities of the company
The principles of using proteins and fats, made on the basis of larvae, in animal feed are quite well studied. However, the full potential of Hermetia illucens is not yet known. And that is why one of the missions of our company is to open new possibilities for the use of raw materials.
Already initial studies confirm that the insect is useful not only for the food and agricultural industries. Together with colleagues around the world, we are working on the search for product applications in the fields of medicine and veterinary medicine, cosmetology, food production for humans. We aim to find ways to use Hermetia illucens larvae to solve humanity's key challenges: increasing waste and resource depletion.

MANY USES
Agroindustry
Cultivation of larvae is an effective method of processing organic waste (in particular agricultural residues) into high quality zoohumus. The black lionfish uses biological properties to decompose organic matter and convert it into biologically active components. The resulting bioproduct can be used to improve the soil and increase the yield.
Feed production
Black lionfish larvae have a high protein content. This makes them an ideal food source for farm animals, pets, and aquaculture representatives. This reduces the use of traditional sources of protein: soy, fish meal and meat products. As a result, the protein from the larvae helps conserve valuable resources and reduces pressure on ecosystems.
Cosmetology
Significant amounts of hypoallergenic protein and fats — potential for the manufacture of effective cosmetic products. The first results of studies show that black sea buckthorn extracts have an antioxidant effect. Black sea buckthorn contains compounds that soothe irritated skin and reduce inflammation. This potentially makes it useful for treating acne and irritations.
Food sector
Extracts and other processed forms of the black lionfish larva can be used as functional food additives. They increase the nutritional value of food. Creating stable processing methods will allow you to completely replace traditional sources of protein: soy and meat. This will save a planet that, according to the UN, will face the problems of overpopulation and hunger by 2050.
Black lionfish is extremely useful and promising in various fields of production. Its unique properties contribute to the creation of effective products, which opens up wide opportunities for innovation in various industries. In agriculture in particular, black sea buckthorn is used as an effective means of recycling organic waste into bioactive fertilizers. Its larvae contain significant amounts of protein, making them an ideal food source for animals.
